The Université du Québec à Montréal is a public university based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is a French-language university and is the largest constituent element of the Université du Québec, a public university system. 

Montréal is the largest city in Québec. Predominantly French-speaking, it’s set on an island in the Saint Lawrence River and named after Mt. Royal, the triple-peaked hill at its centre. Montréal is a cultural hub, with some 250 theatre and dance companies, more than 90 festivals and a fascinating medley of neighbourhoods where artists, writers and musicians have helped cement the city’s reputation as a great arts center.
