In 2019, Paris Diderot University officially merged with Paris Descartes and the Institut Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP) to form Université de Paris.

University of Paris (Université de Paris) and the University of Glasgow are both members of the Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities.
Founded in 2016, the Guild comprises nineteen of Europe’s research-intensive universities in fourteen countries and works to enhance the voice of its members' researchers and students.
