Mahidol University is a prestigious multidisciplinary institution that originates in the establishment of Siriraj Hospital in 1888. It became the University of Medical Science in 1943 and was renamed in 1969 by H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej after his father, Prince Mahidol of Songkla.

The University is one of three campuses located in Phutthamonthon which is a district in the east of Nakhon Pathom Province, central Thailand. The district was named after and is made distinctive by Phutthamonthon park which is a 40 ha Buddhist park.

Mahidol University is an Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Programme Partner. The Erasmus+ programme now offers mobility worldwide, all participants receive a travel and subsistence allowance.
