The Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) is based in Cerdanyola (Sardañola in Spanish) des Vallès, a municipality with a population of 57,413 just outside Barcelona. The university has an active international population, with an exchange mentor programme and cultural trips for exchange students. It was ranked best university in Spain in the World Rankings 2015/16.
