Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) is a national key university, its core subjects are Economics, Law, and Management, coordinated with another six areas: Philosophy, Literature, History, Science, Engineering and Art. ZUEL is directly administrated by the Ministry of Education and is one of the universities sponsored by the Chinese government’s '211 projects' and '985 superior subject innovation platforms'.

Each year the university has over 20,000 full-time undergraduate students, 7,000 postgraduate students, 1,000 doctoral candidates, 10,000 adult students and over 400 international students. Zhongnan University of Economics and Law works internationally with research cooperation and academic exchange relationships with universities from more than 20 countries.

ZUEL is located in located in Wuhan, China and has two campuses.
