Sun Yat-sen University, China

Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU), also known as Zhongshan University, was founded in 1924 by the first President of China and named after him. With an educational tradition spanning nearly 100 years, the University is a pre-eminent research, academic and cultural centre in China.

In October 2020 , the University of Glasgow and SYSU celebrated 35 years of partnership by holding a virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony. The MoU focussed on staff and student exchange and joint research, across a wide range of thematic and cross-disciplinary ideas.
