GREAT Scholarships 2027

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, University of Glasgow is offering 3 scholarships to students in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Vietnam applying for postgraduate courses in any subject (excluding MBA and MSc  Research courses). All eligible courses can be viewed under the 'eligible programmes' tab on this webpage. 

The scholarship offers financial support of £10,000 fee waiver to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. 

Applicants must be passport holders of in one of the eligible countries and assessed as international/EU for fee purposes.

Applicants must have applied, accepted a place and met all the conditions of their offer by the scholarship deadline.

Applicants must not be in receipt of any other source of funding, either from an external funding body or University of Glasgow.

Successful applicants are expected to:

• Be active in the field with work experience or with a proven interest in the proposed subject area
• Be willing to embody the UK Higher Education experience, by attending lectures and tutorials and engaging with extra-curricular activities, and act as an ambassador for UK Higher Education, by promoting the value of studying at a UK HEI
• Be willing to establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment
• Represent the high standards of the GREAT brand by becoming an advocate for scholarships
• Be willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK

Closing date of this scholarship is 30th April 2027, 11:45AM UK time.

All decisions will be communicated by 14th May 2027.

University of Glasgow is committed to support as many self-funded students as possible which is why UofG discounts and scholarships cannot be combined with one another or any external sponsorship discounts (with the exception of Alumni Discount).

If you are offered more than one scholarship, the lower value award will be deleted from your account.
