Biomedical Engineering project work

Common to all degrees within the School of Engineering is a large focus on project work; from the outset of your course you will be expected to be able to apply your newfound knowledge, working both individually and within small groups as part of the constituent courses in the first three years. In the fourth year, and fifth year of the MEng course, a large proportion of the overall grade is afforded to project work - your chance to prove yourself and solve real problems.
As this is a new course, full details on the projects for the fourth and fifth year is as yet unfinalised, but the outline is available below:

  • For the MEng degree the first half of the final year is given over to a research project in industry or academia, in Glasgow or elsewhere, depending on your interests developed during the first years of the course.
  • The BEng degree also involves a major final year project although this will normally be based in Glasgow.
