Course description

The course is designed to help students become aware of Corporate Entrepreneurship and the requirements of organisations and their management to develop innovative and creative practice.

 

Aims

This course is designed to introduce the topic of corporate entrepreneurship.  The course is also designed to introduce students to the issues crucial to the development of organisational innovation and creativity.  The course will draw on the growing body of research and literature related to corporate entrepreneurship.

Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Identify ways by which organisations and their management encourage entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation
  2. Describe technical and environmental influences on organisational ability to innovate.
  3. Analyse the influence that corporate cultures have on the implementation of new ideas.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the organisation and management practices related organisational capability to innovate.
  5. Demonstrate an understanding of the processes of successful implementation of innovative projects.
  6. Demonstrate an appreciation of the management of risk.
  7. Understand the value of personal and profession planning.

3 lectures per week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday), 1100 - 1200
