Dumbarton Road building

View of the recently refurbished Public Searchroom in the Thurso Street building. We also provide a ground–level searchroom service, with wheelchair–accessible toilet facilities, at our offices at 77–87 Dumbarton Road. This searchroom can accommodate up to two visitors. The desk is height–adjustable, and there are wall–sockets at wheelchair height for users with laptops. There is a computer available for viewing this and other archival websites, and our catalogues and databases.

If you would like to use this searchroom, it is essential that you contact us at least one working day in advance to discuss your research and make an appointment, so that we can determine exactly which items you will require, arrange staffing and bring the material over from the store.

To access this building, visitors communicate face to face with staff through a glass reception hatch.
