English Language and Linguistics Research Training (Semester 1)

This course offers students a masters-level introduction to current topics in Discourse Studies, Phonetics and Phonology and Sociolinguistics.

Experimental Design and Data Analysis (Semester 2)

This course provides Masters' level students with a grounding in the most common quantitative, computational, and statistical methods that are used to analyse linguistic data. We will cover experimental design, probability, descriptive and inferential statistics, and computational methods for cleaning, visualising, and analysing data.

Research project

The independent research project provides an opportunity for you to identify and to create a research project in a specific area of speech, linguistics and sociolinguistics that allows in-depth critical exploration of a research question based on your own analysis of language data.
