The programme has been an intensely rewarding experience, setting me on a course to pursue a research degree.  The proportion of personal teaching in one-on-one tutorials is excellent, as is the balance between the taught and research components of the programme.

Philosophy at Glasgow offers a diverse and dynamic research environment; at the same time, the size of the postgraduate community lends itself to a very cohesive atmosphere. If you’re looking for an immersive and challenging master’s programme within an active and rigorous philosophy community, I’d unhesitatingly recommend Glasgow’s degree. I couldn’t have made a better choice.

Taking the programme gave me a much-improved grasp on philosophical issues which are now central to my PhD, as well as being an excellent means to improving general writing, analytical and research skills.

In addition to the lecturers' approachability and small class sizes, as well as regular contact with dissertation supervisors, the weekly seminars (and social outings), help create a sense of community and a fairly relaxed atmosphere within the department; so that although the course is always challenging, it is rarely overwhelming.

Philosophically and socially, the programme at Glasgow is an excellent experience and one that I'd recommend to anyone considering studying philosophy at graduate level.
