Checklist for new students
Before arrival
- Secure term-time accommodation prior to travel
- Ensure you are familiar with our key start and enrolment dates
- Receive your Glasgow University ID (GUID) to:
- Register (Academic and Financial)
- Enrol (Courses and Classes)
An international student?
- Organise your visa application, allowing for longer turnaround times
Have a disability or chronic illness?
- Register with the Disability Service
Ensure that you have
- Your offer confirmation email from the University
- Accommodation arrival and check-in information
- Understood on-campus health and safety arrangements
- Details of any existing medical conditions with relevant evidence
- Confirmation of who will be paying your tuition fees, if you are not paying them yourself
After arrival
- Register and Enrol online (if you have not already done so)
- Complete your Academic Induction
- Familiarise yourself with campus and the local area - Glasgow or Dumfries
- Register with a local doctor and dentist
- Apply for free nationwide bus travel (for those under 22)
