T2G Postgrad: Transition to Glasgow Postgraduate

A unique programme designed to prepare you to join UofG and start your postgraduate studies
T2G Postgrad is a one-week pre-sessional (i.e. before semester starts) programme that runs from Monday 17th to Friday 21st August that's designed to help you settle into life and study at UofG as a new postgraduate student.
It's open to all new postgraduate taught students and it's a great way to get a sense of the expectations of Master's-level study, learn some new skills, and find out what advice/support is available at UofG before you start your courses in September. The full programme runs online, so there's no need for you to be in Glasgow at the time of the course to join.
On the programme, you'll attend a range of Core sessions focusing on the expectations of and key skills required for postgraduate-level study. You'll also attend some College sessions specific to the College you'll be studying in and, if you're an international sudent new to UK Higher Education or you're worried about using Maths and/or Stats in your course (and aren't studying in the School of Mathematics & Statistics), you can also attend the International and Maths & Stats sessions. There's also a Peer Mentoring session introducing peer learning and a variety of Services sessions featuring presenters from key services, teams, and groups from across UofG letting you know how they can help you during your postgraduate studies.

Should I do T2G Postgrad?
If you’re a new postgraduate student joining us in September, then yes!
T2G Postgrad is designed specifically for new UofG postgraduate students to ensure as smooth as possible a transition to Master's-level study.
You’ll need to be available and willing to take part from Monday 17th August to Friday 21st August 2026. All sessions will be online, so you won’t need to be physically in Glasgow at the time of the programme to take part.
We're aware many students may be joining us from different time zones, which may make attending live difficult. As such, we'll try to record as many sessions as possible and make these available shortly after the live sessions. However, where possible, we'd encourage you to attend the live sessions so you can engage with the activities and ask questions, etc.
T2G Postgrad isn’t compulsory, but we hope that you’ll join us!
