Postgraduate research opportunities
TRS in Glasgow has a large and vibrant community of post-graduates undertaking research in a range of fields across theology and religious studies. PhD Research can be pursued in any of the areas of staff expertise or areas of our research. As well as a PhD in theology and religious studies, we offer a dedicated PhD programme for the study of theology and literature, and a part-time Doctorate in Practical Theology for practictioners in areas including health-care, education and the ministry [link to DTP]. PhD students are able to draw on the resources of the following Research Centres: Literature, Theology & the Arts; Medical Humanities Research Centre; Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Glasgow, Scottish Religious Cultures Network.
You can also undertake a one-year research Masters degree in any of these areas. A combination of taught and research Masters is possible through our MRes degrees.
