Scottish Child Law Centre
The Scottish Child Law Centre is the only specialist hub which provides advice to children of all ages, across all areas of child-related Scots law. This includes education, additional support needs, health, residence, contact, youth offending, accessing records, confidentiality, children’s rights, children’s hearings and disputes involving the court.
They take a child-centred approach when giving advice, and all queries are answered by qualified solicitors. They also provide specialist training to partner organisations to enable them to better advocate for the rights of the child.
In 2026/27, GO Justice offered two students the opportunity to attend a placement with the Scottish Child Law Centre, to develop their skills in child-related Scots Law. These student volunteers will be invited to research and draft responses to legal enquiries, support the Centre's free legal advice helpline, shadow solicitors and conduct legal research.
