Law in Action
Each year GO Justice offers all incoming first year students the opportunity to participate in a mock tutorial. These tutorials are led by fellow Law students who are either in their 3rd or 4th year of study. The tutorials give the new cohort of students a chance to experience their first Law School tutorial, introduce them to some legal content and principles and perhaps most importantly, give them a chance to meet each other.
Students will be introduced to a landmark legal case relating to a social justice issue and, with the support of their mentor, explore questions like...
- What is the role of law in society?
- How do people resolve their legal problems?
- How effective and accessible are the legal remedies which are available?
Students gain experience in reading, reflecting on and discussing legal cases and legislation, as well as participating in a mock tutorial, sharing your ideas individually and as part of a group.
