Immigration Bail Observation Project
The Immigration Bail Observation Project 2026/27 offers students an opportunity to participate in an empirical and socio-legal research project; the first study of its kind in 10 years.
Students were invited to observe immigration bail hearings and document the process, attend debriefing sessions, identify themes, and ultimately inform policy recommendations. Observing First-Tier Tribunals in this way gives will enable us to understand how law works in practice.
This project is in partnership with the Scottish Detainee Visitors and Justice & Peace Scotland.
