Practical Lawyering Skills for Social Justice
A series of interactive lunchtime workshops led by a range of sector-leading academics and solicitors to equip students with the practical lawyering skills needed to advance social justice.
In 2025/26, these workshops included:
- ‘So, You Want to SLAPP Someone? Workshop on Abusive Civil Litigation’
- ‘Lawyering for Environmental Justice’
- 'Professional Legal Ethics & Social Justice Lawyering'
- 'Legal Aid'
- 'Working with vulnerable clients- Trauma Informed Lawyering & Vicarious Trauma'
- 'Client Care – how to communicate with vulnerable clients'
- 'Client Care – interviewing'
These are light-touch so students can drop-in for one or more sessions, as suits their interest. They are especially suited to students who may be unable to participate in a long-term external placement due to caring, work and personal responsibilities.
