06 MayThis year, the Comparative & International Education Society Conference took place in Minneapolis, USA, between 18th and 22nd of April 2022. The theme of the conference was “Illuminating the Power of Idea/lism” that sought to address the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise of nativism and fundamentalism.

Plurilingual Classrooms in Action
The University of Glasgow and the Scottish Council of Deans of Education Languages Group is delighted to announce the launch of their MOOC entitled ‘Plurilingual Classrooms in Action’. This is a four-week course corresponding to the key principles identified in the National Framework for Languages (NFfL – National Framework for Languages (ed.ac.uk)). There are sections on the following areas: plurilingualism, diversity, policy and legislation, and transformative practices. -

Translanguaging in Kazakhstan
The end of March 2022 marked the completion of an important project. Implementing a Translingual Approach in a Trilingual Environment (Kazakhstan) is an international project which took place from April 2020-March 2022.
