What Is A Cluster?

School of Critical Studies Research Clusters

Research Clusters are a focal point for collaborative activity across the School with members of each cluster acting as critical friends, bringing editorial expertise to the reading of work-in-progress, and working together on the development of new courses, preparing grant applications, planning future conference organisation, and devising fresh departures in collaborative, innovative and interdisciplinary research.

Co-authored work is encouraged, both within the cluster and beyond. Each cluster has a lead who acts as contact and coordinator. Meetings may be virtual or face-to-face. Clusters meet one or twice a semester to receive updates and compare notes on current research and on developments in the field, including funding opportunities.
