Programme structure

The Euro-Asian MBA-MSc programme is an exciting partnership designed in collaboration with the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), allowing you to combine a one-year MBA from our partner uni in Asia with our master's degrees.

The programme draws on both European and Southeast Asian-specific business experiences, giving you a unique insight into leadership in today's international business world. 

You'll spend your first year studying in Indonesia on the ITB MBA programme before joining us in Glasgow for the second part of your journey on our Glasgow MSc. 

At Glasgow, you'll have the choice of one of four, world-class MSc programmes including: 

  • International Human Resource Management & Development 
  • Finance & Management 
  • International Management & Design Innovation or 
  • Financial Technology (FinTech) 

 

Year 1 MBA

MBA ITB offers professional and entrepreneurship streams which are consistently ranked as the best graduate business programs in Indonesia.

MBA ITB aims to develop you to become innovative leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset for the betterment of business, government, and society.

The curriculum includes fundamental core and tailored elective courses designed to challenge you to discover practical business solutions through real-world applications in the context of an emerging economy such as Indonesia.

Year 2 MSc

Once in Glasgow, choose between one of four world-class, triple accredited MSc programmes, including International Human Resource Management & Development, Finance & Management, International Management & Design Innovation, or Financial Technology (FinTech).

International Human Resource Management & Development

This programme will allow you to develop a theoretical and practical understanding of contemporary human resource management and human resource development within an international context.

  • 8 core courses
  • 2 optional courses
  • 1 independent piece of research work in the form of a dissertation

Finance & Management

This programme will provide you with a thorough understanding of management and financial management within a global context.

  • 6 core courses
  • Either 2 finance courses (20 credits each) or one finance (20 credits) and 2 management courses (10 credits each)
  • 1 independent piece of research work in the form of a dissertation

International Management & Design Innovation

This programme will provide you with a comprehensive knowledge of how design in practice operates and to examine its importance to a modern international company.

  • 8 core courses
  • 1 substantial independent piece of work in the form of a project or dissertation.

Financial Technology (FinTech)

Fast-moving trends in technology and banking have altered the landscape for those seeking to make an impact in the world of finance. The MSc Financial Technology provides an advanced education in the multiple converging skills and knowledge bases that are required by the organisations of the future.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements for the Euro-Asian MBA-MSc programme at ITB includes:

  • A 2.1 Honours degree or non-UK equivalent
  • Your degree must meet the pre-requisites of the University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School MSc 

Shortlisted potential students will be invited for a short interview with the Programme Director or alternate as there is limited space for this highly competitive programme. 

English language requirements

  • For applicants whose first language is not English, the University of Glasgow sets a minimum English Language proficiency level.
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic module (not General Training)

    • 6.5 with 2 sub-tests at 6.5 and 2 sub-tests at 6.0.
    • Tests must have been taken within 2 years 5 months of start date. Applicants must meet the overall and subtest requirements using a single test.

    Common equivalent English language qualifications

    All stated English tests are acceptable for admission to this programme:

    TOEFL (ibt, my best or athome)

    • 90 with minimum R 20, L 19, S 19, W 23.
    • Tests must have been taken within 2 years 5 months of start date. Applicants must meet the overall and subtest requirements using a single test, this includes TOEFL mybest.

    PTE (Academic or Academic Online)

    • 60 with minimum 59 in all subtests.
    • Tests must have been taken within 2 years 5 months of start date. Applicants must meet the overall and subtest requirements using a single test.

    Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE) and Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) 

    • 176 overall, no subtest less than 169
    • Tests must have been taken within 2 years 5 months of start date. Applicants must meet the overall and subtest requirements using a single test.

    Glasgow International College English Language (and other foundation providers)

    • 65%.
    • Tests are accepted for academic year following sitting.

    University of Glasgow Pre-sessional courses

    • Tests are accepted for 2 years following date of successful completion.

    Alternatives to English Language qualification

    • Degree from majority-English speaking country (as defined by the UKVI including Canada if taught in English)
      • students must have studied for a minimum of 2 years at Undergraduate level, or 9 months at Master's level, and must have complete their degree in that majority-English speaking country and within the last 6 years
    • Undergraduate 2+2 degree from majority-English speaking country (as defined by the UKVI including Canada if taught in English)
      • students must have completed their final two years study in that majority-English speaking country and within the last 6 years

    For international students, the Home Office has confirmed that the University can choose to use these tests to make its own assessment of English language ability for visa applications to degree level programmes. The University is also able to accept UKVI approved Secure English Language Tests (SELT) but we do not require a specific UKVI SELT for degree level programmes. We therefore still accept any of the English tests listed for admission to this programme.

    The University of Glasgow accepts evidence of the required language level from the English for Academic Study Unit Pre-sessional courses. We also consider other BALEAP accredited pre-sessional courses:

Funding opportunities

If you require funding for your master's degree, begin your research as soon as possible.

Students applying to the Euro-Asian MBA-MSc programme at the University of Glasgow will not be eligible for internal University of Glasgow scholarships, as our fees are already reduced under the Euro-Asian MBA-MSc programme partnership.
