International Business - Development Studies (Radboud - Glasgow)

MSc International Business - Development studies is a dual masters degree programme in collaboration with Radboud University, Netherlands. This exciting programme will enable you to understand and analyse the activities of multinational enterprises and their socio-economic and policy implications for society.

  • You will be provided the training needed to analyse large datasets, which is a skill valued by most employers

Programme structure

This dual degree is a two-year programme, with your first year spent studying at Radboud University and the second year at the University of Glasgow. This programme brings together expertise in ways of reducing inequality in the developing world from the perspective of both multinationals and policy makers.

This programme consists of a total of 150 EC credits. The dissertation is joint and will be coordinated by both universities.

Year one - Radboud

Year two - Glasgow

You will take three core courses and three optional courses and complete an MSc dissertation.

  • Development policy
  • Research method and dissertation training (includes economic data analysis)

  • Basic econometrics
  • Behavioural economics: theory and applications

  • Financial institutions and markets in developing countries
  • Foreign direct investment and development
  • Growth and development
  • Human rights and global policies
  • IMF, World Bank and economic growth
  • International security and global politics
  • International trade
  • Policies for sustainability and development
  • Project planning, appraisal and implementation
  • The law and economics of sovereign debt regulation
  • Theory and principles of sustainability

If you have little or no economics background you are strongly recommended to take the non-credit introductory course to economics offered before semester one begins
