University of Glasgow degree parchments are traditionally issued in Latin. An English translation is now included as standard at the bottom of every parchment, however if you received your parchment before the English translation was included, organisations and potential employers may request that you provide them with a copy of your parchment translated into English. You can obtain this by requesting a parchment translation.
Covid Service Impact
Only digital copies of parchment translations can be provided at present. These digital documents are on colour letterhead with the university seal and include a digital stamp and signature. Further information on when these service provisions may change will be provided as soon as possible.
Our parchment translations include a full English translation of the Latin text on your degree parchment. Please note that we do not produce or send legalised copies of degree parchments, for this you will need to consult a Notary Public or the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Applications should be submitted on the UofG Helpdesk. Please note that documents will be produced within 15 working days.
Standard processing fees are £10 for one copy plus £1 for each additional copy with delivery fees added separately (if applicable). Please note that we are currently waiving processing fees in light of the current restrictions on our service.
