We’ll be exploring some of our shared interests with talks and performance exploring ways in which the Scottish National Bard, Robert Burns (1759-1796), engaged with the environment in his life and work.

We’ll be joined on by award-winning singer and song leader Robyn Stapleton who will perform from her wonderful repertoire of Burns song, and Professor Nigel Leask, author of Robert Burns and Pastoral: Poetry and Improvement in Eighteenth Century Scotland (Oxford University Press, 2010) – awarded Saltire Research Book of the Year – and editor of Burns’s Commonplace Books, Tour Journals and Miscellaneous Prose (2014) for the new Oxford University Press edition of ‘The Works of Robert Burns’.

*Reception from 5-6pm, with talks and performance from 6-7pm.
