First celebrated in February 2005, LGBT+ History Month is an important event in the UK's diversity calendar and this year the organisers are inviting us to celebrate LGBT+ peoples’ contribution to cinema and film

LGBT+ History Month is celebrated in the UK in February. It was first celebrated in 2005. Each year, LGBT+ History Month has a different theme, with Schools OUT, the founders of LGBT+ History Month UK, providing free resources for education, business, services and organisations.

This year, LGBT+ History Month celebrates LGBT+ peoples’ contribution to cinema and film. Directors, cinematographers, screen writers, producers, animators, costume designers, special effects, make up artists, lighting directors, musicians, choreographers and beyond #BehindTheLens.
