Professor Frances Lennard Retires

Our best wishes to Frances on her retirement.

Professor Frances Lennard led the establishment of MPhil in Textile Conservation at the University of Glasgow. In her roles as programme convenor and Director of the Centre for Textile Conservation and Technical Art history, she has been an ambassador for textile conservation and became the first Professor for Textile Conservation.

Her research includes principal investigator on the major AHRC funded project Situating Barkcloth in Place and Time and on the Leverhulme funded project From the Golden Age to the Digital Age: Modelling and Monitoring Historic Tapestries.

Frances continues in her role as Honorary Professorial Research Fellow at this exciting time as the Centre makes a new transition by relocating to Kelvin Hall and its re-launch as the Kelvin Centre for Conservation and Cultural Heritage Research.
