Immigration Compliance

COVID-19 Update: the Immigration Compliance Team will not be available on campus for the forseeable future. Please direct your visa compliance enquiries to immigrationcomplaince@glasgow.ac.uk

Nationals of countries outside the European Economic Area or Switzerland are currently subject to UK immigration control, and therefore require a visa or leave to remain to be in the UK. Universities are required by law to check that all their students have valid immigration permission for the UK. The Immigration Compliance Team is responsible for ensuring that this requirement is met.

Universities are also licenced to sponsor students to come to the UK to study under the Tier 4 visa route. The University of Glasgow is a registered Tier 4 sponsor with Sponsor Licence Number TRAW6PAA8.

Please see the links at the side of this page to help you find the information you are looking for.

If you are looking for information on applying for a visa, please read the information on our International Student Support team's webpages.

If you do not need to collect a BRP from us, for example if:
