Tier 4 visa
The Points-Based System (PBS) is the UK's main immigration route for nationals of countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland who wish to come to the UK to study or work. There are five tiers under the PBS, and Tier 4 is the category for students.
The University of Glasgow acts as a registered sponsor for students under Tier 4. Our Sponsor Licence Number is TRAW6PAA8.
The Tier 4 Compliance Team within the Registry is responsible for ensuring that a range of areas relating to the University’s licence and Tier 4 sponsor status are met.
For information on applying for student visas, and on the Tier 4 Pilot, please read the information on our International Student Support team's webpages.

The University of Glasgow's ACL (Alternative Collection Location) code is 2HE499. Students and their dependants applying for their visa outside the UK should enter this code into their visa application form when prompted. This will allow collection of the Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) from the University of Glasgow's Main Campus and not from the Post Office. For more information on BRPs, see here.
