Can I present in Spanish or Portuguese?
The working languages at the conference are English, Spanish and Portuguese. You may present in any of these and we will accept proposals in any of these languages.
Certificates of attendance
If you need a certificate of attendance email SLAS2017@glasgow.ac.uk before the conference with your name, institution and paper title. Your certificate will be available at the reception desk during the conference. Certificates can only be requested in advance.
Invitation/acceptance letters & visas
On request to SLAS2017 we can email a confirmation of acceptance letter to you. If you need a letter for visa purposes, please give us the following information:
- full name as it appears on your passport
- date of birth
- place of birth
- passport number
- passport issue date
- passport expiry date
We prefer you to register and pay your conference fees beforehand so that confirmation can be used as evidence of attendance.
Our reception/registration desk will be in Hunter Halls, A 14 on the Campus Map.
The conference dinner will take place in the Hilton Hotel on Byres Road, which is a 10-minute walk from the University.
Internet access & printing facilities
Many delegates will automatically have access to the University’s eduroam network – click this link for joining instructions. The deadline has now passed for delegates to request guest access to the wireless network.
Printing facilities will not be available and the nearest copy shops are:
The Copy and Print Shop, 58 Gibson Street, Glasgow G12 8LY.
Mail Boxes Etc., 103 Byres Road, Glasgow G11 5HW.
To allow for discussion, presenters should adhere strictly to time (each panel session is 90 minutes and many panels have two sessions).
All panel rooms have PowerPoint facilities and delegates should bring their presentation on a USB stick. An IT technician will be available on both conference days for support.
Can I launch or advertise my book at SLAS?
The conference committee cannot organise book launches but, if you know that your publisher is present at SLAS, you should contact them directly to arrange this.
