The Curriculum Transformation project has been in progress since January 2024.

Since its inception, substantial progress has been made in shaping a new curriculum for MBChB students at the University of Glasgow. Key developments of the project so far include:

  • The refinement of aims and objectives of all phases across the curriculum, which now comprises seven distinct phases over five years, each with clear name descriptors.
  • Approval of a new MBChB structure.
  • Active planning, including ongoing consultations with staff, students and other external stakeholders.
  • Development of a map of the current curriculum.
  • Ongoing development of a curriculum mapping software, which will ensure dynamic alignment with Outcomes for Graduates and MLA content map.
  • Creation of subgroups (e.g. assessment, coursework, electives) within the steering group to provide focused expertise and input.
  • Launch of Specialty Pods, which are convening to develop Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) and map them to the Outcomes for Graduates and MLA.
