Since its inception, substantial progress has been made in shaping a new curriculum for MBChB students at the University of Glasgow.
The Curriculum Transformation project has been in progress since January 2024.
Since its inception, substantial progress has been made in shaping a new curriculum for MBChB students at the University of Glasgow. Key developments of the project so far include:
- The refinement of aims and objectives of all phases across the curriculum, which now comprises seven distinct phases over five years, each with clear name descriptors.
- Approval of a new MBChB structure.
- Active planning, including ongoing consultations with staff, students and other external stakeholders.
- Development of a map of the current curriculum.
- Ongoing development of a curriculum mapping software, which will ensure dynamic alignment with Outcomes for Graduates and MLA content map.
- Creation of subgroups (e.g. assessment, coursework, electives) within the steering group to provide focused expertise and input.
- Launch of Specialty Pods, which are convening to develop Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) and map them to the Outcomes for Graduates and MLA.
