Research in family law

There is a thriving research culture around family law at the University of Glasgow. Our researchers have expertise in a range of methodologies, including doctrinal, theoretical and socio-legal work, and our focus is on projects which produce real-world results. Current and former projects have been funded by the AHRC, ESRC and the Nuffield Foundation.

In addition to work on specific topics within child law and the law of adult relationships, we also explore broader thematic issues including the influence of religion in family law and the place of human rights. We enjoy strong links with the Edinburgh Centre for Relationships and Family Research, the Commission on European Family Law and the Family Law Association.
