Prof Margaret Lucas was elected a Fellow of the RSE, awarded the IET Achievement Medal for Ultrasonic Technology, and has become the new Dean of Research for the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Glasgow.

Schools View Ultrasound Needle Innovation

During IUS 2019, 600 local schoolchildren attended an exhibition on ultrasound at the Glasgow Science Centre. Dr Rebecca Cleary, from the Ultrasurge team, showed off the needle she has designed for doing biopsy off the petrous apex.

£6m ultrasonic surgery project is launched

Ultrasurge, a research project, led by the University of Glasgow, aiming to find new ways to use ultrasonic tools for complex, robot-assisted surgery which has received more than £6m in funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), started on the November 1st.
