Christina is an electronic engineer with a background in signal processing and systems engineering. She received her Master of Engineering degree from the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences in 2005 and her PhD from the University of Rostock in 2009. This research was facilitated by EADS Defence and Security and focussed on wavelet analysis and nonuniform sampling of radar signals. She joint the Marie-Curie Research and Training Network FAST (Advanced signal-processing for ultra-fast magnetic resonance Spectroscopic Imaging) as a postdoc at the Université catholique the Louvain, Belgium, where she explored the potential of wavelet analysis in Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy. Christina then worked as a systems engineer and in radar signal processing algorithm development at EADS Defence and Security/Airbus Defence and Space and Continental, before becoming a member of the Sonopill team in July 2017.

In Sonopill, Christina investigates coded excitation for improved penetration depth. Furthermore, she is working on quantitative ultrasound measures to support Dr Ben Cox' research into inflamed bowel tissue.
