Dr AL-Rawhani is a research associate at the University of Glasgow, Glasgow, U.K. He received his BSc degree in electronics and telecommunication engineering from Amman University, Amman, Jordan, in 2004. For one year he worked as a field engineer where he was part of a team responsible for installations of micro-wave communication systems in the remote area of the republic of Yemen. In 2007 he received the MSc degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Glasgow, where he also received his PhD degree in electronic integration design and implementation for biomedical applications in 2012.

Dr Al-Rawhani’s research interests include design, integration, assembly, characterisation and evaluation of optical and bio-chemical diagnostic application. His research mainly focuses on the design of Application Specific integration Circuits (ASICs) chips using High/Low voltage Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) such that provided by austriamicrosystem ( AMS) and Taiwan Semi-Conductors (TSMC). The designed ASIC chips integrate optical and bio-chemical sensor arrays with other necessary conditioning circuits. His research interest also focuses on other aspect of the design and implementation such as power consumption miniaturisation and portability.
