Dr. Sumanth Kumar Pavuluri (SP), B.Tech, MSc, PhD is currently a Post-Doctoral Research Associate with Heriot-Watt University.

Dr. Pavuluri completing his PhD in 2011 on micro machined antennas. SP has worked on biosensors from August 2007 to February 200. Highly sensitive micro machined microwave sensors for biological and chemical material detection based on waveguides loaded with a frequency selective surface have been fabricated. The work was a finalist in IEEE microwave theory and techniques (MTT) microwave measurement competition 2009. He also worked on Frequency Agile Microwave Oven Bonding System (FAMOBS) from February 2009 to October 2011 and developed patentable new generation open-ended oven prototypes for uniform and efficient curing of the microelectronic chips. This has been the basis of one UK patent filing and two European patents in the filing stage. This project has reached a technology readiness level of 5. He also worked on Commercial automated Remote sensing device for road surfaces from October 2011 to September 2012. Recently SP is involved in patented technologies (two patent filings) on the use of novel non destructive microwave sensors for food industry from February 2013 to December 2013

His current research interests include modelling, fabrication and testing of radio frequency-microelectromechanical systems devices, micro fabrication and micromachining of RF and acoustic based devices for bio medical applications, waveguide cavity ovens, microwave sensing, curing, and integrated circuit packaging.
