Being at university is all about trying things you haven’t tried before. If you like a challenge, then look no further than Gymnastics.
It might be your first time walking on your hands or touching your toes. Whatever you want to achieve in gymnastics, we are here to help you succeed!
Training - We train three times a week through a mixture of strength, flexibility and skills development classes.
We are a very sociable club, which will make you feel at ease from the first moment you walk through the door. As you begin, you will learn the most basic skills, and how to perform them safely on all apparatus’. You will also learn about the biomechanics behind each skill and how to move your body and muscles accordingly. As you become stronger and more flexible you can set yourself bigger challenges and try increasingly impressive skills. If skills aren’t your thing, that’s fine too! You can also treat gymnastics as a new and exciting way to become more fit and supple.
Competing - Competitive gymnastics is open to everyone, but it is not mandatory! We have a variety of competitions to get involved in throughout the year, from inhouse club competitions, travelling to other university clubs for their competitions through to Scottish Formers competitions, and, of course, BUCS.
