New project launched this week focusing on Student Forecasting and Enrolment

This month Professor Frank Coton, Vice-Principal for Academic and Educational Innovation, and colleagues from across the University launched a new project focusing on Student Forecasting and Enrolment.

This project is part of the World-Changing Glasgow Transformation (WCGT) programme, focusing on the student experience. The initial workshop led by Professor Coton and the WCGT team is the first step in shaping the approach and scope of this project. The project is at an early stage, but we have provided a brief overview below:

Project Summary

This project will set out to tackle the following key opportunities:

  • Improvement of student experience of our registration and enrolment processes
  • Alleviate the growing pressure on the University’s estate
  • Provide greater control over academic planning and workload management

And the project work will be split into three workstreams:

  • Forecasting (led by Martin Boyle)
  • Process Improvement (led by Dr Dorothy Welch)
  • User Experience and System Improvement (led by Professor Moira Fischbacher-Smith)

Next Steps

  • Identify core work stream team members
  • Roll out collaboration tools to all workstream team members
  • Begin design activities for all work streams
