Getting to Gilmorehill Campus

Parking
Parking on campus and in the surrounding area will be very limited during graduation periods, particularly on weekdays.
We strongly encourage graduands and guests to consider travelling by public transport where possible.
Blue Badge parking

Accessibility and Support
We want all graduands and guests to be able to enjoy and participate fully in graduation ceremonies.

Venue accessibility
Graduation ceremonies take place in Bute Hall, located on Level 4 of the Gilbert Scott Building. Access is available by lift or staircase.
Accessibility for graduands
Graduands normally access Bute Hall and the pre-ceremony assembly areas via the Randolph Staircase.
Graduands who require lift access should speak to staff at registration on the day of their ceremony, who will be able to direct them to the appropriate lift access route.
Staff will be available on the day to provide assistance and directions where required.
Accessibility for guests
Guest access routes to Bute Hall vary depending on ticket type. Guests requiring step-free access should be allocated accessible seating tickets.
Guests with standard tickets will normally access the Hall via the building turrets, which contain winding staircases.
Lift access is available from:
- Outside the University Gift Shop (A11 on the Campus Map) on Level 1
- The Concert Hall Foyer on Level 2
Accessible Seating
Graduands are responsible for requesting accessible seating tickets for their guests.
Accessible seating can be requested during the enrolment period or on the day of the ceremony at registration.
Staff will be available throughout the day to provide assistance and directions where required.

Dumfries Campus
Getting to Dumfries Campus
Summer graduation ceremonies take place at the Crichton Memorial Church on the Dumfries Campus.
Information on travelling to the Dumfries Campus, including directions by car, rail, bus, bicycle and on foot, can be found on the University's travel pages.
Parking
Parking on campus and in the surrounding area may be limited during graduation periods.
We recommend using the car park in front of Easterbrook Hall where possible.
All parking on campus is free; no permits are required.
Blue Badge parking
Accessible parking is available at the entrance of the Rutherford McCowan Building, and at the front of Maxwell House.
