Seating Guidance

Accessible seating: If any of your guests require accessible seating, step-free access or a wheelchair accessible space, please select the Floor Seating ticket option when booking your guest tickets. For information about accessibility, parking and support arrangements, please visit Access, Maps and Travel.

Children: Children are welcome to attend the ceremony but must have a ticket and be accompanied by an appropriate adult. Please note that the Upper Floor of Bute Hall is not suitable for children under 10 years old. If your guests include children, please select one of the following seating areas when booking your tickets: section A, section C, section D or Floor Seating.

Stepped access: Some seating areas are accessed via the building turrets and include narrow staircases with uneven stone steps. Guests who may have difficulty using stairs should select the Floor Seating ticket option when booking guest tickets.

Changes to seating arrangements: The University reserves the right to move guests and seat them in a different area of the hall regardless of the ticket section booked. Please see ticketing terms and conditions.

Overflow venue

The overflow venue allows additional family and friends to watch a livestream of the ceremony on a large screen on campus. Each graduand may request up to two overflow venue tickets when registering on the day of their ceremony. Overflow tickets are subject to availability and are issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
