Dumfries On-the-day instructions
As your graduation day approaches, we want to ensure you are well prepared. Below is some important information to help you make the most of your special day.
You will also have access to the Dumfries Graduation Moodle page, which includes further information about your day and answers to frequently asked questions.
Registration
On the day of your graduation, you must register between 11:00am-11:40am for your ceremony. If you are late, you may not be able to graduate so please allow plenty of time to register. Registration is at Maxwell House’s west entrance (side closest to the Church).
You must bring your student ID card with you to register, If you no longer have your card, bring photographic ID and your student number.
After registration, you can collect your gown and proceed to the official photographer station in Maxwell House.
Graduands will be lined up for the procession to the Church at 1:20pm where you will be seated in your role call order. Staff will be on hand to guide you to the appropriate seat.
Non-attendance
If you enrol for the ceremony but don't attend without prior notification to the Registry, your graduation will be considered in absentia, and your documents will be sent to your recorded Home address in MyCampus. If you are running late or your circumstances have changed, please contact the school office via telephone or email as soon as possible.
Guest Tickets
Your guests will need to be seated at the church from 1:15pm-1:45pm. The guest ticket will grant them entry.
The University accepts no responsibility to replace lost, damaged or stolen tickets.
Children
Children are welcome to attend the ceremony but must have a ticket and be accompanied by an appropriate adult.
Livestream
Family and friends who are unable to attend in person can watch the ceremony online.
Travel and Accessibility
Graduation Ceremony Postponement
In the highly unlikely event of a graduation ceremony postponement or cancellation, the University will make every effort to communicate this as soon as possible through our website, social media, and direct contact with attending students. Under no circumstances shall the University be liable for any actual or alleged loss incurred by ticket holders, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, subsistence costs, or any loss of business or earnings due to such postponement or cancellation.
The University reserves the right to refuse admission in accordance with our policies and guidelines
