Undergraduate Advising

Arts degree programmes offer you the flexibility to follow your interests and provide exciting opportunities to study abroad, either as part of a degree in Modern Languages or through established exchange-programmes.

The Arts Advising Office is your first port of call for any curriculum-related academic advice and for pastoral support. We can help you with:

  • updating student records in MyCampus
  • repeating a year in the College of Arts
  • withdrawal from the University
  • readmission into the College of Arts
  • College transfers
  • general advice and information
  • information regarding College policies.

Pre-Honours queries (Years 1 & 2)

If you have a query at pre-Honours level about your studies (for example, a specific administrative problem regarding MyCampus or a pastoral issue), all you need to do is contact us. You can email us or drop in to our office anytime between 9am – 4pm without an appointment.

If you have a specific academic issue with a course (for example, submission of coursework or information about reading lists) contact your course convener or course administrator.

Honours queries

Please contact your Honours convener or Honours administrator if you have a query at Honours level such as:

  • selection of Honours courses
  • induction meetings at Honours level
  • information about set texts
  • reading lists for Honours courses
  • specific regulations that pertain to your Honours subject-area
  • submission of coursework
  • pastoral issues
  • study abroad.

Junior Year Abroad queries should be directed to Go Abroad or your Honours administrator.

Language Year Abroad queries should go to your Honours administrator.

Your Honours convenor or administrator will refer you to the Arts Advising Team if necessary for queries such as:

  • academic plan change
  • progression from Junior to Senior Honours
  • requests for a repeat year
  • readmission into the College of Arts
  • requests for change of status (full time/part time).
