Martingale Foundation Scholarships

The University of Glasgow is now partnering with the Martingale Foundation to provide fully funded postgraduate scholarships in mathematics to eligible students from low socioeconomic backgrounds. The Foundation’s mission is to enable and nurture talented individuals from low socioeconomic backgrounds to access and thrive in world-leading postgraduate research.
About Martingale masters and PhD Scholarships
Martingale Scholarships provide talented students interested in pursuing postgraduate research with both the financial support and professional development opportunities needed to excel in a research environment.
Martingale Scholarships provide crucial support through:
- A fully funded scholarship to pursue a Master's or PhD.
- Funding that covers all tuition fees and research expenses, including a tax-free stipend aligned with the Living Wage Foundation.
- Tailored support throughout the university application process, including guidance specific to each institution.
- A comprehensive professional development programme, including leadership training and opportunities to connect with leading academic and industry professionals.
- Membership of a prestigious research community.
These postgraduate scholarships in mathematics are administered by the Martingale Foundation and must be applied for through the Foundation rather than directly through the University of Glasgow.
Applications for 2027 Martingale Scholarships will open on 12th August 2026 and close on 18th October 2026.
