Glasgow Environmental Justice Clinic

The Glasgow Environmental Justice Clinic is a Policy Clinic. We do not deal with live clients, but rather work with external organisations to provide research and support on environmental justice issues. Policy clinics often aim to influence legislation, regulatory reforms, or public policy changes, and students in these clinics engage in research, advocacy, and analysis to support these goals.

In pursuance of these goals, the Glasgow Environmental Justice Clinic works in partnership with the Environmental Rights Centre Scotland (ERCS) - an environmental Legal charity in Scotland that seeks to increase the capacity and opportunity of individuals, community groups and organisations to promote environmental justice at neighbourhood, local authority and national levels.

Our Mission

We exist to ensure that environmental justice is embedded in law and policy. We:

  • support evidence-based reform of environmental governance;
  • provide legal and policy research to public-interest organisations;
  • equip students with hands-on experience in environmental law and policy practice;
  • promote a socially just approach to environmental governance.
