The School of Infection & Immunity's Musculoskeletal Research Team has been named a EULAR Centre of Excellence in Rheumatology Research – a distinction they have now held for a decade.

The renewed status, awarded for 2025–2030, highlights the team’s outstanding contributions to European rheumatology research.

Granted by the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR), the designation acknowledges institutions that lead the way in advancing research, mentoring emerging scientists, and shaping health policy.

As part of the rigorous selection process, the Sii team showcased their impactful research outputs, strong European collaborations, and active involvement in patient-centred initiatives.

Professor Neil Basu and Professor Iain McInnes received the award during the recent EULAR Congress held in Barcelona between Wednesday, 11 and Saturday, 14 June, and the metal plaque will shortly be displayed in the Level 4 stairwell in the Sir Graeme Davies Building.

Warm congratulations to everyone involved in the recognition and for maintaining such a high standard of research excellence.
