Archaeology of the Uplands

With the aim of exploring the wider landscape of Forteviot – and the ever-changing relationship between people and land, the survey of some of the uplands to the south of Dunning and Forteviot provides an opportunity to document the development of agriculture and settlement, particularly before and after the period of Improvement in the 18th and early 19th centuries.  It is also an opportunity to explore communication and transportation routes, across Strathearn and the Ochils, some of which may have prehistoric origins.
