PhD projects
In collaboration with the Scottish Deep End project and Antibiotic Research UK, Anthony Bell is undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) degree at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford. His DPhil is centred on exploring the prescribing and use of antibiotics for common lower and upper respiratory tract infections (RTIs) in a deprived area of Glasgow. This is important because if deprivation shapes acute infection management within this context, this raises more serious policy and practice questions surrounding the impact of health inequalities on anti-microbial resistance.
Anthony looks forward to sharing the findings of this work with relevant stakeholders and further developing collaborative work between the Scottish Deep End and the Infection, Respiratory, and Acute Care group from Oxford.
