Using wePresent Displays

This howto details using the wePresent displays.

wePresent displays let users display their content from their own devices onto shared screens.

You can flexibly connect using using Eduroam over WiFi as well as using provided cable connections.

Choose the connection method you want to use; WiFi or cable...

Using wePresent displays via WiFi

1) At the button panel

  • Turn the display ON‌
  • Select BYOD

 

2) Get the MirrorOp Sender App

Phones & tablets: install the appropriate app from your device’s app store.

Laptops: Install the Windows Sender or Mac Sender app from https://www.barco.com/en/support/mirrorop/drivers

Note: The software is FREE to download and FREE to use. The laptop app might prompt you to register for $9.99 but you do not need to do this. The application is licensed for free use with wePresent devices.

3) On your device

  • Connect your device to Eduroam
  • Login with your email address and GUID password

 

4) Start MirrorOp app

  • Enter the display’s IP & PIN when prompted

 

Optional - Multiple connections

Up to 4 devices can connect to a single display.

Connect each device as described.

Pick the quadrant option on MirrorOp to display content side by side from multiple devices.

 

Notes when using MirrorOp

1) Eduroam

Using wePresent over WiFi assumes the Edroam network is available.
As with other services there is always the possibility of outages.

In that case you need to use the HDMI direct cable connection.

 

2) MirrorOp’s features

Different clients on laptops, Android and iOS devices may have slightly different features.
Notably;

iOS

  • Supports ‘quadrant’ mode
  • video cannot be played

Android

  • Does not support ‘quadrant’ mode
  • can play videos, but only in whole device screen share mode

Using wePresent displays via HDMI

1) At the button panel

  • Turn the display ON
  • Select HDMI

 

2) On your device

Plug the HDMI cable into your device

 

Or if you have your own cable with a male connector for your mobile device, use that to plug directly into the wall socket.

Notes

  • VGA is not available
  • Please leave the provided HDMI cable in the room
  • If you use your own cable, be neighbourly and reconnect the provided cable
 

3) Share your display

a) On Windows

Use Win-P to toggle between Duplicate or Extend.

b) On Macintosh

Use Display in System Properties to toggle Mirroring Displays to suit.

c) On phones and tablets

Your screen should be automatically shared to the wePresent display.
