Our congratulations to the School of Chemistry’s graduates and undergraduate students who were awarded prestigious prizes and awards for 2022-2023:

 

Sam Saju - The Joseph Black Medal for Outstanding performance in Chemistry at Level 1.

Oscar Banim - The George Roger Muirhead Prize for Outstanding performance in Chemistry at Level 1.

Hannah McInnes - The Kerr Bursary Awarded to Outstanding Student in Chemistry at Level 1.

Aurelie Reijnen - Andy Parkin Memorial Prize for Most Outstanding performance in Chemistry at Level 2.

Catherine Fleming - the School of Chemistry Prize for Excellent performance in Chemistry at Level 2.

Alex Marriott - the School Chemistry Award for Excellence in Physical Chemistry at Level 3.

David Sutherland - the School Chemistry Award for Excellence in Organic Chemistry at Level 3.

David Sutherland - the School Chemistry Award for Excellence in Inorganic Chemistry at Level 3.

David Sutherland - Lang Scholarship for Excellent in performance in Chemistry at Level 3.

Katarzyna Neczaj - Takeshi Taketsuru Prize: Awarded for the best placement student.

Niamh Heywood - Best BSc Honours Poster Prize.

 

Niamh Heywood - Lorimer Bursary for Outstanding performance in Honours Chemistry.

 

Eric Gemmel - Professor William Parker Memorial Medal and Prize for Excellent Performance in Chemistry at Final year.

 

Ben Trodden - The Ian Swan Memorial Prize and the School of Chemistry Prize, both awarded for Distinguished performance in Physical Chemistry at Final year.

Shaun Fletcher - Oswald Robertson Prize and the School of Chemistry Prize, both awarded for Excellence in Inorganic Chemistry at Final year.

Ryan Brown - Ian Sword Prize awarded for Excellence in Organic Chemistry at Final year.

Alexander Pitman - The Mackay Smith Prize awarded to the candidate most distinguished in Chemistry at Final year.

Olivia Marshall - Alfred Bader Prize 2022, awarded to an outstanding Graduate who subsequently undertakes PhD research at the University of Glasgow in the area of Organic Chemistry.

Anna Bailey - The John LT Waugh Memorial Prize 2022, awarded to an outstanding Honours Graduate in Chemistry who subsequently undertakes PhD research in Inorganic/Physical Chemistry at the University of Glasgow.
