Adam Smith Consultancy Experience
The Adam Smith Consultancy Experience gives you the opportunity to work directly with organisations on real business challenges as part of your studies. Applying the knowledge and skills developed in the classroom, you'll collaborate with industry partners to deliver research, analysis, and evidence-based recommendations that help organisations explore new ideas and solve complex problems.
Working on live consultancy projects allows you to gain valuable professional experience, develop your commercial awareness, and build confidence in applying your learning in real-world settings. You'll work with organisations across a range of sectors, gaining insight into the challenges businesses face while developing skills that are highly valued by employers.

Recent Experience Opportunities
Adam Smith masters case competition
In May 2026, we welcomed multiple institutions from across the globe to compete in the inaugural Adam Smith Business School Masters Case Competition.
Teams competed daily on a live business problem set by industry clients to examine challenges and propose strategic solutions within a set timeframe. After each division, competing teams presented their findings to a judging panel of industry professionals, previous case competition participants, and academic staff. Awards were presented at the end of the week for division winners and the overall winning team.
This competition is designed to be both challenging and enjoyable, with opportunities for teams to network, build international relationships and experience some Scottish hospitality.
