Welcome to the July 2020 edition of HAWKEYE,
IHW's monthly newsletter

Black lives matter newsletter header

We are witnessing a renewed global focus on the #BlackLivesMatter movement following the police killing of George Floyd on 25 May 2020. It is, therefore, timely for the Institute of Health and Wellbeing to reflect on how racial discrimination and ethnic inequalities impact on the lives of our staff and students and influence their work. The July 2020 edition of HAWKEYE is focused on this topic and features a mixture of personal reflections and research highlights. To paraphrase Einstein, science may have smashed the atom but has yet to smash prejudice.
